Post-appointment tipping allows your clients to leave a gratuity privately from their phone after their appointment has ended. It’s a great way for them to show appreciation even after they’ve left your business, and it is handled independently of the checkout or service payment.
This option is a special perk for our Booksy Pay users. To offer it to your clients, you simply need to have both Booksy Payments and Booksy Pay enabled.
Note: Your clients don’t have to pay for the appointment via Booksy Pay to leave a post-appointment tip. Even if they paid for the service with cash or a card reader, they can still tip you through the app later!
How it works for clients
- Clients can leave a post-appointment tip separately from the checkout and service payment, provided no tip was previously given for that appointment.
- Clients have a full 30 days after their appointment to go back and add a tip.
- Booksy sends a gentle push notification to the client after the appointment to remind them they can still leave a tip. They can also do this through their appointment details in the Booksy app.
Management and settings
- Because this feature is designed to help you earn more, it is automatically active for all Booksy Pay users.
- While you cannot turn off only the post-appointment option, you can manage your overall tipping preferences (or disable digital tipping entirely) by heading to: Business settings > Payments & Checkout > Checkout Settings > Tips settings.
