Step 1: Owner setup
Before a basic staff member can use Tap to Pay, the Owner has to customize their permissions.
Booksy Biz (web/tablet app):
- Navigate to Staff Management & Resources.
- Select the Staff Member.
- Click the pencil icon.
- Open the Permission Level menu.
- Select Continue with Basic Staffer.
- Ensure the Checkout toggle is switched on.
Booksy Biz (mobile app):
- Go to Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Select Staff Management.
- Select the Staff Member.
- Go to Role and permissions.
- Select Continue with Staffer Basic.
- Ensure the Checkout toggle is switched on.
Note: This permission is essential for basic staff members to be able to complete appointments and process any form of payment.
Step 2: Staff member activation
Once the owner has granted access, the staff member has to configure their individual mobile device settings:
- Permissions: Open the Booksy Biz app settings on your phone and ensure both Location Sharing and Bluetooth are set to "Always" or "While Using the App."
- Verification: Go to the Checkout screen in Booksy Biz. If any further action is required, a notification banner will appear under the "Tap to Pay" option to guide you through the final setup.
