How do I connect my BBPOS WisePOS E or Stripe Reader S710? ?

The BBPOS WisePOS E and the Stripe Reader S710 are two of the card reader models sold as the Booksy Card Reader. The setup steps below apply to both models.

Set up the card reader

  1. Remove the back panel of the card reader.
  2. Install the battery if your card reader was supplied with one. Line up the gold connectors on the battery with the connectors in the battery slot.
  3. Reinstall the back panel.
  4. Press the side power button to switch the card reader on.

Connect the card reader to Wi-Fi

When you first activate your card reader, you are prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. Swipe right on the card reader screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Enter the PIN 0-7-1-3-9. This PIN is the same for the BBPOS WisePOS E and the Stripe Reader S710. You need to enter the PIN every time you open the card reader settings.
  4. Select Network to open the Wi-Fi settings.
  5. Select your network and connect to it.

Your card reader and the Booksy Biz app must be connected to the same network, and that network must be password-protected.

Connect the card reader using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi

Both the BBPOS WisePOS E and the Stripe Reader S710 support a wired connection through a docking station. The docking station is optional and is sold separately.

  1. Connect the docking station to your network using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Seat the card reader in the docking station.

Connect the Stripe Reader S710 using 4G

This option is available on the Stripe Reader S710 only.

The Stripe Reader S710 has a SIM slot and can connect over 4G, also referred to as cellular. Use 4G when a reliable Wi-Fi network is not available at your checkout location.

4G connectivity is not enabled by default and carries an additional cost. To enable 4G on your card reader, contact the Support Team using chat, or email info.us@booksy.com.

Pair the card reader with the Booksy Biz app

  1. Open the Booksy Biz app on the device you want to connect the card reader to.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Payments and Checkout.
  4. Select Booksy Card Reader.
  5. Allow access to Location and Bluetooth when the app asks for permission.
  6. Allow access to Find and connect to devices on your local network if the app asks for that permission.
  7. Select Connect New Card Reader to begin pairing.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
