Booksy offers advanced service and booking settings designed to fully customize your services and calendar based on the needs of your business. Each individual service can be customized using these settings. Different services, different rules. You’re in control of every detail.
Service setup options:
-
No-Show Protection: Require clients to pay a Deposit at the time of booking, or set up a Cancellation Fee if they cancel late or miss their appointment.
Note: You’ll need to set up Mobile Payments to activate this feature so we can collect the payments for you.
-
For Client: Tools to help you and your client prepare for the appointment.
- Message to Client: Add a message for your client. They’ll receive it before the appointment.
Ex: “Reminder, please come with bare nails!” or “Park behind the building, and dial 1234 to get in. See you soon!”
- Questions to Client: Add questions for clients to answer during the booking process.
Ex: Do you have any allergies? Were you referred by a friend? If so, write their name here for a discount!
- Staff: If applicable, indicate which staff members are or are not able to perform this service. You can assign different service variants to different staff members if they perform the service at different speeds or price levels. Advanced service settings:
To adjust the settings below, head to the Settings tab of the individual service you’re setting up.
Go to: Services Setup > Services & Combo Services > Select a service > Settings.
You can customize the following settings per service:
-
Allow self-booking - If this option is switched on, your clients will be able to book the appointment online through your Booksy Profile. Otherwise, you will only be able to book this service for a client yourself.
-
Mobile Service - If you mark a service as a Mobile Service, it means that you are willing to travel and perform the service at a client's location. These services will always require manual appointment confirmation from you.
Note: In order to offer Mobile Services, you’ll need to first adjust your Mobile Services settings (Business Settings > Business Details > Location & Mobile Services).
- Booking Intervals - This setting will define the available start time intervals for that appointment. Ex: If you set your Booking Interval to 30 minutes, clients will be able to book every thirty minutes (9:00, 9:30, 10:00, etc). If you set it to 5m, appointments will be bookable starting every 5 minutes (9:00, 9:05, 9:10, etc.)
-
Padding Time - You can build in extra time before or after an appointment for prep, admin work or cleaning. The padding time will be blocked off in your calendar and not available for booking.
Ex: If you need 15 minutes before each nail appointment to prep your station, add a Padding Time of 15m before the appointment. A 2:00 PM nail appointment will be blocked off starting at 1:45 to give you time to prepare for your client’s arrival.
-
Processing Time - some services require a long processing break (e.g. hair color) where the client doesn’t need your attention. With Processing Time, you can make the most of that time by making that break bookable by another client while your original client is processing.
Ex: If your hair coloring service requires a 40 minute processing time, this setting will open your calendar for booking during that 40 minute period so you can service another client and bring in more money while you wait.
- Parallel Clients - Are you or a staff member able to service multiple clients at the same time? Parallel Clients will allow multiple people to book during the same time slot. Choose how many you can service at once, and that slot will remain bookable until you’ve met your max.
