Set up your Service listings to start accepting client bookings
Services
Before you can become bookable by clients, you need to make sure that you have at least a few Services added. Some basic services have been created for you to help get you started - you can edit and categorise them, and add additional services.
💡Tip: Start with setting up only your most popular services to begin with. You can always come back to build out your complete service list once you get the hang of things!
How to: Set up or edit your Services
Service Name - This is how your service will be listed on your Booksy Profile. Make sure it is clear and specific.
Description - Create a detailed description for your service that explains exactly what it is, and what’s included with the service. This will display along with the service listing on your Booksy Profile, and helps clients choose the right service for them.
Add Media - Add photo examples of the service to give your clients a better understanding of the service type. The photos will display along with the Service Listing on your Booksy Profile for clients to view.
Service Colour - This setting is for you - it is the colour the appointment block will show up as on your calendar. Customise and colour code your appointment types to match your aesthetic and know what your day and week look like at a glance!
Price Type - Choose the pricing structure that works best for this service.
- Fixed: the price is set
- Varies: the price is not set and can vary depending on the service details. If you choose this price type, you will not have to set a price
- Don't show: the price is fixed but will not show on your Booksy Profile
- Free: the service is free
- Starts at: Set a minimum price, but the actual price will be determined during the appointment
Service Variants - Allows you to create a single service listing with multiple options, like a service with different durations, products or pricing. Each variant can have a different length and price. The Client will first select the "main" service, and the options will appear for the person to choose from.
Ex: Instead of listing separate services for short, mid-length and long nails, you can create a single "Acrylic Nails" service with different prices for each length.

Combo Services
Package multiple services into a single bookable service to easily allow clients to book them together. This is great for services commonly paired together, or to bundle services together for a discount. Combo Services are available for you to schedule from your Calendar and for your Clients to book via your booking site.

Categories
Categories sort your services into different types of offerings, organising your booking profile into sections and making it easier for clients to browse your offerings and find what they’re looking for.

Add-Ons
Add-ons are extra services or products that can be added onto a main Service. Add-ons are a great way to create customizable experiences, and upsell your clients at the time of booking to bring in more money with each appointment. Add-ons also allow you to make your pricing more transparent to your clients, and ensure you’re charging your worth for any extras you’re providing.
Clients can view and select add-ons and upgrades at the time of booking. The price and length of the booked appointment will be automatically adjusted based on their selections.
Examples of add-ons:
- Nails: Set a price per nail for Nail Art, charge for each crystal added, add extra time for a soak off, offer a Paraffin dip or massage upgrade
- Barbershop: Offer a face mask, beard oil, special designs
- Hair: Offer a massage, hair mask, or blowout
- Massage: Hot stones, Aromatherapy, Additional time
How to: Set up Add-Ons
Require clients to pay a Deposit at the time of booking, or set up a Cancellation Fee if they cancel late or miss their appointment.
Note: You need to set up Mobile Payments to activate this feature so we can collect the payments for you
Allow self-booking
Need a little extra control over certain services? Choose whether you want this service to be visible on your profile and bookable online by clients. If it’s switched on, clients will be able to book the service online through your Booksy link. If it’s off, you will only be able to book this service for a client yourself.
Head to Services Setup > Services & Combo Services > Select Service > Settings
Padding Time
You can build in extra time before or after an appointment for prep, admin work or cleaning. The padding time will be blocked off in your calendar and not available for booking.
Head to Services Setup > Services & Combo Services > Select Service > Settings
Ex: If you need 15 minutes before each nail appointment to prep your station, add a Padding Time of 15m before the appointment. A 2:00 PM nail appointment will be blocked off starting at 1:45 to give you time to prepare for your client’s arrival.
